What your teen will do
Each session is led by motorcycle-experienced instructors and takes place on real e-bikes. Bikes, helmets, and safety gear are provided.
- Classroom session: how Class 1, 2, and 3 e-bikes differ, and the Florida rules for riding them
- Learning to brake, turn, and stop suddenly without losing control
- Riding practice on a closed course with instructors watching every rider
- Telling legal e-bikes apart from high-speed electric motorcycles, which need a license and registration
- Certificate of completion at the end of the session
Why it matters
- Nicklaus Children's Hospital in Miami-Dade treated 46 children for e-bike injuries in 2025, nearly eight times the number in 2021.
- Teens ages 10 to 19 account for 41% of national e-bike emergency room visits.
- Most youth e-bike crashes involve a loss of control, which is what this training addresses.
- Sunny Isles Beach and Pinecrest now restrict riders under 16.
